made in Japan
It is from the Edo period. Shells and Wakamatsu are painted on the glossy
black ground, and Futaba Aoi and Torii lacquer work are painted inside the
shells. Aoi Futaba is a symbol used in the Shinto ritual of Kamigamo Shrine
in Kyoto. The gold color of the delicate lacquer work can be changed, and
the pear-skin texture is also used, making it gorgeous.
It is slippery and feels good, and has a simple and beautiful shape.
The size is about 17.5 cm in diameter

What looks like small grains is dust.
Because it is antique, apply cream to prevent lacquer deterioration just
before shipping.
